Hello
Shatira E. Champion, LMHC, LPC, LCMHC-QS
Shatira E. Champion is a Triple Board-Certified licensed psychotherapist, licensed in the states of FL, SC, and NC. She has attained board Qualified Supervisor (QS) credentialing in Florida. Mrs. Champion has over 17 years of experience in providing emotional wellness service. She is well versed in community, individual, and couples counseling. She has also worked with families within the dependency/foster care system.
Mrs. Champion finds her passion and purpose in providing access to exceptional mental health care for underrepresented populations (e.g., women of color, HBCU students, individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, and young adults/adults with involvement in the dependency system). Her area of specialty is curating a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and supportive space where marginalized individuals and communities can show up authentically.
She implements a multifaceted theoretical approach by integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and other evidence-based practices that enhance the overall counseling experience, while maintaining a primary focus on the "here and now." Mrs. Champion’s mission is to promote help-seeking behaviors within minority populations and to eradicate myths associated with mental health counseling.
